Pittsburgh Technology Council
Since 1983, the Pittsburgh Technology Council
has been the principal point of connection for
companies from four primary clusters of the
technology industry that are represented by a
critical mass of businesses in southwestern
Pennsylvania including:
·
Information Technology
·
Biomedical
·
Advanced Manufacturing / Materials
·
Environmental Technology.
The supporting members include businesses,
professional service firms, academic
institutions and civic organizations that
provide vital products and services to the
region’s technology industry.
Council membership currently includes nearly
1,400 companies in the 13-county southwestern
Pennsylvania region, making it one of the
largest regional trade associations of its kind
in the nation.
The Council partners with several organizations
in initiatives to improve the region's economic
climate and technology industry growth. An
example is the Catalyst Connection. It is one of
Pennsylvania's seven industrial resource centers
and advances the performance of manufacturing
and technology companies by providing customized
solutions to everyday problems. Others include
the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Allegheny
County and The City of Pittsburgh.
A world-class technology hub with recognized
innovation in all areas of the industry, the
Pittsburgh region is home to some of the most
dynamic ventures, both startup and Fortune 500.
Here, companies are developing the next
generation of software and Internet
applications, researching tomorrow's tissue
engineering technologies, and perfecting the
latest advanced manufacturing techniques. We're
capitalizing on our unique combination of
natural and cultural amenities and a
strengthening technology infrastructure to fuel
our growth.
The Pittsburgh Technology Council is
located in Pittsburgh, Pa. and led by Mr. Steven
G. Zylstra. Its web site is
